Gazza: Tailored by Umbro by Aaron› 25 May 2012
As proud sponsors of the England team, Umbro are keen to celebrate the icons that have made history over the years, the Faces Of England , and they don’t get much more iconic than Paul Gascoigne. An inspirational figure on the field, Gazza was the creative spark at the heart of England for many years, and as the current team look for success this summer we thought he’d be the perfect man to inspire England once again.
As you can see here, Gazza looks
great in the current England home shirt , and the pride and passion he still has
for England is clear for everyone to see. We sat down with the great man to
talk about his career and some of the infamous stories that surround him
recently, and we’ll be revealing some of these moments over the next week.
Today, ahead of England’s first friendly of the summer and the start of their
European campaign, we asked Gazza what it meant for him to play for England and
to look back at some of his finest moments on the pitch. Gazza turns 45 this
weekend, but he’s able to take us right back to 1996 here as he reflects on
England’s terrific victory against Holland, his goal against Scotland and the
clear pride he has in his country.
As the current England team head
into the summer, we hope that Gazza’s clear passion can help to inspire them
towards success. We’re proud to be celebrating one of football’s real icons,
