Umbro Classic Football Shirts: some of our finest 1970s specials by Aaron› 13 Aug 2012
We’re continuing our dive through the Umbro football shirt archive today with a look at one of the most exciting eras in football design – the 1970s. A time of outlandish haircuts and ever-expanding collars, the 1970s was also the time when the Umbro logo first appeared on football shirts, and the iconic diamond taping on the sleeves was also seen for the first time.
We’ve posted a whole host of pictures from our archive over on our Facebook Timeline, including the magnificent Wolves shirt pictured above. Although we know a lot about our shirts, we know that occasionally we can make a couple of mistakes, and you guys know a lot more about them than us! If you spot any mistakes, or any other classic shirts that you’d like to share with us, post a comment here as we’d love to see them.
