Welcome to The Home Room
What is it? Quite simply, it’s a podcast for people who are as passionate about the game as we are. The Home Room brings together a unique mix of guests from inside and outside the game...both familiar faces [well, voices] but also some unfamiliar ones who’ll reveal stories you wouldn’t normally hear. We’re not interested in media-trained answers and areas of the game you hear every day... Instead, we’ll cover the good, the bad and the ugly of the topics that matter.
Here’s the team of experts who joined us for the debut show:
- Guillem Balague is both an author and authority on European football. A familiar face on shows such as Revista de la Liga, Guillem has written a best-selling biography of Pep Guardiola.
- Mike Rigg is one of the most experienced men in his field. A former head of academy at Sheffield Wednesday, chief scout at Blackburn Rovers, head of player acquisition at Manchester City, Mike was most recently technical director at QPR
- Steve Eyre is a former youth football coach who guided Manchester City to five youth league titles and an FA Youth Cup. More recently, Steve was manager of Rochdale FC and is currently senior professional development coach at Huddersfield Town
- James Beaumont, a former professional footballer on the books at Newcastle United and Nottingham Forest, is now a qualified journalist and sports marketer, which essentially means he travels the world watching football under the guise of “work...”
