It's a few weeks since we announced the winners of our Umbro Golaço competition, and our five lucky goal-scorers from around the world are now looking forward to an amazing trip to Brazil next month. Before that though, we thought it'd be good to chat to some of our winners, and to see how they feel about winning a once-in-a-lifetime prize.
First up, Argentine Javi Castabal - if you haven't seen his stunning strike, you can watch it here. Here's what Javi had to say about his goal and his footballing heroes...
Tell us about your Umbro Golaço goal – where was it scored?
'During a tournament we played with my team, in September 2013. I was playing with Furano, my team, the opponent was Febo Asoma - the game finished 1-1. I’ve scored a lot of goals out of area, but none as good as this.'
Why did you decide to enter the competition?
'When I heard about the way of choosing the winners I really thought I had a possibility to win. The goal had to be good, and I knew mine was.'
What do you think was so special about your goal that made it stand out?
'I think the fact that the Roberto Carlos goal was inspiring this competition helped me a lot. The goal was from far away, surprising and fast, characteristics that a lot of Roberto Carlos goals have in common.'
And how did it feel to find out that you'd won?
'I felt very happy and anxious! I think the trip will be amazing. However, I don’t want to create any expectations, but let myself be surprised once I'm there.'
What does football mean to you?
How old were you when you started playing football?
'I don’t remember exactly. My first memories come with Italia '90. I was five years old.'
Which players inspired you when you were growing up?
'When I was younger it was Caniggia, Francescoli, Ortega. When I started watching more international football I liked Micheal Laudrup, Zinedine Zidane, Ronaldo. Today my favourite has to be Messi, by far the best player in the world.'
Had you seen the famous Roberto Carlos goal
before? And do you think he meant it?
'Yes - and he did mean it; no doubt he was capable of scoring goals like that. I’m sure he could score another similar goal.'
Thanks to Javi for speaking to us, and congratulations again on winning the competition! We'll be catching up with our other winners soon - you can still see all of our chosen goals at through the Umbro Golaço app.
