After being unveiled on Friday, the new Everton 2014/15 away kit was worn for the first time yesterday in a pre-season friendly in Thailand. Now, as we get even closer to the start of the new season, we thought it was the perfect time to take a closer look at the club's new all-black outfit.
The colour, inspired by one of the first kits Everton ever wore, was personally praised by manager Roberto Martinez for its smart, stylish look. The lightweight shirt has a subtle micro shadow stripe across the body, with raglan sleeve shaping offers enhanced fit and movement. There's a splash of white thanks to the fabric overlay that sits over the displaced side seams. On the back of the shirt, laser-cut ventilation holes help to keep the wearer cool, with two shaped like the famous Toffee Tower.
The classic crew neck collar is accompanied by a v-stretch rib insert, which adds an extra layer of comfort and design detail. The back-neck taping is in the club's Everton blue home colour, meaning that wherever fans or players travel, they'll always have a bit of Goodison there with them.
The club's new crest and the Umbro double diamond are embroidered onto the chest of the shirt, completing what we think is one of the smartest shirts in the Premier League this season.
The shirt is accompanied by a smart pair of black shorts, which feature white mesh insert panels on the side for enhanced breathability. A shaped inseam adds a fitted shape to keep the wearer comfortable, while the club crest and Umbro logo are again embroidered onto the fabric.
The kit is completed by black socks, which are crafted to ensure comfort and performance. Anatomical footbeds, Y heels and a double welt cuff with white trim ensure that the wearer is comfortable and can concentrate on their game.
