All eyes might still be on Brazil at the moment, but here at Umbro we're already looking forward to Euro 2016 and the qualifiers that start in September - as we've just announced a deal to kit out one of the most exciting teams in the tournament.
Yesterday, it was announced that the Serbian national team will be wearing Umbro kits when they kick off on their Euro 2016 campaign in a couple of months. The two-year deal will start in September, as Serbia embark upon their campaign to reach the finals of the European Championships in France in 2016. Serbia will join the Republic Of Ireland as international teams wearing the double diamond for their Euro 2016 campaign.
Becoming a fully independent nation in 2006, Serbia has grown in stature on the football pitch, qualifying for the World Cup in 2010 before narrowly missing out on the chance to go to Brazil this year. For the European Championships in France, Serbia are in a group with Portugal, Denmark, Albania and Armenia, and will be confident about reaching the finals. Two teams from each group will qualify, while some of the best placed teams that finish third will also do so. With a strong squad of established international players and a generation of talented youngsters breaking into the first team, we're sure it's going to be an exciting time for Serbian football.
The new Serbia home and away shirts will be unveiled before their first qualification fixture, stay tuned for more details!
