Centenary Collection
“If you look smart, you play smart (on and off the pitch)” was the mantra of our founder Harold Humphreys. From collabs with brands like Aries, Palace, and Supreme, to partnerships with some of the biggest world’s biggest teams we have been redefining the sportswear landscape since 1924.
For us it all started in Manchester’s Northern Quarter 100 years ago, and ever since our story has been woven into the rich tapestry of the City’s industrial history. At its height, Manchester and the Northern Quarter were the epicentre of the global textile industry, often referred to as Cottonopolis. This were our founder Harold Humphreys started off his career at the young age of 13.
With 100 years of English sportswear history in every stitch, the Centenary Collection by Umbro is inspired by our rich design history and multi-sports roots and continues to celebrate our conviction that sports lives beyond the locker room and pitch, extending across every aspect of life.
Hear the name Umbro and of course, Football comes to mind first. The kits, the boots, the Double Diamond on the chest of teams around the world. But whilst the beautiful game might be our one true love, it’s certainly not the only sport we flirted with.
The Centenary Collection combines themes inspired by our multi-sports roots with trend-led silhouettes and graphics. The collection reimagines our function-first sporting designs for a new trend-led generation for whom the lines between sportswear and fashion have never been more blurred.
Reversible Ramsey Jacket
A revisionist take on a true Umbro classic, the Reversible Ramsey Jacket is this season reinterpreted into a fully reversible piece with one side featuring a striking monogram matte/shine jacquard and the other side a diamond graphic gradient. The Ramsey stripe is proudly emblazoned across the bomber collar, cuffs, and waistband, with our heritage-inspired ‘filled-in’ diamond placed on the right of the chest, true to the 1960s original.
Monogram Anthem Track Jacket & Track Pant
The Anthem Track Jacket and Track Pant feature the Double Diamond monogram matte/shine double knit jacquard and a tailored pin-tuck detail for a sartorial twist. Elsewhere on the jacket, the engineered stripe collar lends a nod to the up-turned style worn by an iconic striker at one of Manchester’s leading teams in the 1990s.
Football Shirts
Inspired by football kits of the late 1970s and early 1980s, we have introduced a range of football shirts which provide a street-savvy take on a style which has long become a wardrobe classic.
Cabana Set
Our SS24 interpretation of the Cabana Set, first offered by the brand in the 1960s, is the perfect packaway for high-summer escapades. Defined by its sleek proportions, both the short-sleeve shirt and swim short are emblazoned with Umbro’s signature all-over diamond gradient print.
The new collection is supported by a campaign, which is a love letter to our home, Manchester’s Northern Quarter. Our Centenary campaign celebrates not just the physical landmarks, but the spirit of creativity and resilience that defines this iconic neighbourhood. From the vibrant street art that adorns its walls to the eclectic mix of independent shops and cafes, the Northern Quarter pulses with energy and innovation. It's a place where diversity thrives, where old meets new, and where every corner tells a story. Celebrating the vibrant connection between the brand and city, the campaign paints a poignant portrait of an area defined by innovation, constant renewal, and cultural relevance.
