We’ve come together with LC23, the Italian label based in Puglia, for the third time in our ongoing partnership to create an elevated capsule that fuses tailoring codes with football heritage, all for #19.
Part of our Tailored for Umbro series, the capsule draws on founder Leo Collacico’s formative memories of Puglia in 1990. At the centre of it all is a memory that stayed with Leo from childhood: that summer in Italy, when the game’s biggest tournament turned the country into a stage for football at its most unforgettable. Among it all, one image endured — a white jersey with tonal diamond detailing, an impossible-to-ignore number 19 on the back, and the player who would become his hero.
Three formal, double-layer shirts cut from Italian Oxford fabric and made by highly skilled artisans in Puglia make the capsule. Each shirt consists of a solid-colour top with a pinstripe layer underneath. The shirts are inspired by the three emblematic Umbro jerseys Leo’s number 19 wore in Italy in 1990 : a white home, a red away and a sky-blue third. The result is a refined reworking of the football kit, where sporting codes meet tailored construction.
Crests, player numbers and insignia appear as elevated appliqués and embroideries, while one final detail brings the story full circle. LC23’s signature number 23 gives way to 19, the number that names the collaboration. Umbro-branded cufflinks complete the collection.
The campaign was shot around Leo’s hometown in Puglia by Italian photographer Valerio Nico. Moving between the historic centre, the countryside, the sea and the stadium, the imagery pays tribute to the places where football first came alive for Leo. Streets, church fronts, the shoreline and wheat fields become poetic new playing grounds, bringing memory, landscape and sport together in a singular visual narrative.
