Rituals
Rituals can be small, private acts: silent mantras or socks and shoes in a certain order. They can be communal: songs or overly elaborate handshakes. And they can be brilliantly bonkers, like smacking a kiss on a bald man’s head.
But no matter what side you represent, we’ve all got them – players, fans and managers alike. They exist in every level of the game, every league, every culture. That’s why we’re showcasing the weirdest and most wonderful rituals we can.
Teaming up with our Umbro sponsored teams including Argentinos Juniors, Cape Town City FC, FC Lorient and Terengganu FC, we are calling on grassroots sides to share clips of their own matchday rituals with us. From pre-match dances to post-match songs, we want to see them all!
From all submissions, our favourite clips will be entered into a public vote with the winner receiving brand new Umbro kit for the whole squad, so they don’t have to rely quite so much on superstition to get results.
