Umbro Brazil have joined forces with Fluminense to release a third kit inspired by one of Brazil’s most celebrated musicians, Cartola.
Born in 1908, Angenor de Oliveira (Cartola) was an iconic Brazilian singer, composer, poet. Growing up in Rio de Janeiro, it was here where his relationship with football started, playing in the streets and watching his beloved Fluminense.
Cartola also played a key role in the growth in popularity of samba music, not only through composing but also by helping to open Estação Primeira de Mangueira, one the countries oldest and most traditional schools dedicated to samba. In a nod to his beloved Fluminense, the school adopted the club’s famous colour green with pink.
Styled in green, the 23/24 Third jersey celebrates Cartola’s passion for the club and one his most famous songs “Run and look at the sky”. The lyrics of which can be seen as a sublimated print across the front and back.
Further details include a V-neck collar and trims popped in pink. There is also a special sign-off featuring a drawing of the artist wearing a Fluminense shirt and "Mestre Cartola" surrounding him.
The 23/24 Fluminense Third kit is available to order via www.umbro.com.br, online club store and selected retailers in Brazil now.
