For the latest chapter of Tailored for Umbro, we’ve joined forces with British football storytelling print project secondhalf.pdf to launch a limited capsule centered on goalkeeper culture. It’s an ode to football’s number one, and the mindset that comes with wearing it.
Goalkeepers exist slightly outside the game. Separate shirt, separate rules, separate responsibility. The collection leans into that individuality, reframing it as identity rather than limitation. secondhalf.pdf approaches the project through process - scanning gloves, stretching prints across panels, pulling details from our archival goalkeeper pieces and reworking them into something physical and immediate. The outcomes are expressive, printed sports culture garments close to fanzine and terrace graphics. Nothing is too polished, and everything carries a trace of where it came from.

The collection is supported by a campaign complete with a short film and lookbook built around the feeling of being there - not just for the football, but also for the people you play it with. Shot in a stripped back cage environment, the campaign moves between portraits and real moments, laughs, collisions, conversations, the bits that usually get missed. The film is threaded together with a manifesto about how you should “Choose Number 1”, anchoring the campaign into the narrative behind the project.
