From national anthems, new bands on the latest video games or just good old fashioned terrace chants that have been passed down from generation to generation – music is as much a part of football as the ball is.
But it’s not just passionate fans and famous rappers who sing. Players also like to flex their vocal cords, singing along to the pre-match playlist, chanting before they walk out onto the pitch and singing the praises of teammates down the tunnel after they’ve grabbed that last minute winner.
It also goes beyond fun and games. Songs, lyrics, and chants – some sincere, many hilarious – tell stories that make up an intrinsic part of club identity. That identity belongs to nobody but the fans that know them off by heart… and sing in unison from the same place week in week out.
Teaming up with Argentina’s Club Atlético Tucumán, we want fans to share their favourite club songs with us by leaving them as comments on campaign posts.
The most popular songs and chants – voted for by the fans - will be transformed into a unique artwork which will then be applied to a club jersey which we will reveal later in the year. Fans will also be given the opportunity to purchase so they can sing in the jersey that their voices made possible.
