Our Game goes by many names

From vibrant colours and scintillating stripes to some truly unique patterns, there’s a lot to love about jerseys from African clubs and national teams.

Over the last week, we’ve celebrated some of the most intriguing and mesmerising jerseys in a showcase like no other. Each showcase is on @umbro social media channels and right here on umbro.com.

Our final showcase takes a look at jerseys belonging to some of the most interesting names and nicknames in African football.

Nkana United play in the Zambian Super League and are one of the countries most popular clubs. The home, away and third jerseys all feature a cascading graphic pattern on the front which is contrasted with the club's crest.

Cape Town City F.C. play in the South African Premier Division and are nicknamed 'The Citizens'. The home jersey features a one of a kind graphic across the front which is styled in the club's colours of blue and yellow.

Currently playing in the Ghanaian First Division, Sekondi Hasaacas F.C hail from the twin cities of Sekondi-Takorad. 

The club's nickname of 'Giants of the west' was first used in 1959 after drawing 3-3 with one of Germany's biggest clubs during a pre-season tour. The jerseys are styled in the club's colours of green, white, red and yellow and feature contrasting graphics across the front.

Representing the University of Pretoria, The 'Tuks' currently play in the South African First Division. The red away jersey keeps things simple but stylish. It features the Universities emblem and nickname across the middle.
